Vegetarian Food in Helsinki

One thing I definitely didn’t expect to love this much about Helsinki was the café scene. I spent about two weeks in the city and tried everything from chai and matcha to cinnamon buns, pastries, burgers and Indian food. These are the places I’d recommend from my trip — including the restaurant that ended up being my favorite in Helsinki.

    Ravintola Onninenpal

My favorite restaurant I ate at in Helsinki was Ravintola Onninenpal, an Indian restaurant I found during my trip. The food was SO good. Out of everything I ate in Helsinki, this is the restaurant I’d be most excited to return to.

Is Helsinki Good for Vegetarians?

I found plenty to eat as a vegetarian in Helsinki, especially once I started exploring beyond traditional Finnish food. Between vegetarian-friendly restaurants, Indian food, burger spots, cafés, pastries and Helsinki’s huge coffee culture, I had no problem finding options.

If I went back tomorrow, my first food stop would probably be Ravintola Onninenpal — followed very quickly by another chai at Roasberg.
