Vegetarian Food in Hiroshima

Hiroshima is famous for its okonomiyaki, and luckily you don’t have to miss out as a vegetarian! I found some great vegetarian and vegan-friendly spots while visiting, including one of my favorite meals from Japan.

    JoGeSaYu

I was actually obsessed with this place. The Mini Teppan Okonomiyaki quite literally changed my life 😂 I originally tried to order it at lunch, but it’s only served at dinner—FYI! Definitely my top pick from this guide.

    Vegan Options

    Jirokichi

A traditional okonomiyaki spot that serves meat but also has a separate vegan menu. A good option if you’re traveling with people who don’t eat vegetarian or vegan. I personally preferred the okonomiyaki at JoGeSaYu.

You can absolutely experience Hiroshima’s famous okonomiyaki as a vegetarian or vegan! JoGeSaYu was the standout for me, but these spots gave me several options while exploring the city.
